Peak definitions vary by utility, season, weekday, and holiday. Copy the exact schedule before estimating savings.
Identify flexible loads
EV charging, laundry, dishwashing, and some water heating are often shiftable. Cooling and cooking may be less flexible, and safety should always come first.
Compare the whole tariff
A cheap overnight rate can be offset by a high evening rate or a new monthly charge. Model the entire month's peak share, not one appliance in isolation.
